Large Group Accommodation

It’s sometimes difficult to decide where to go when there are a number of people who want to congregate together. Motels are difficult because you can’t all fit in the one space and privacy is sometimes compromised by other guests. That’s why a lot of people have sought out solutions to large group accommodation issues and have discovered camps. Unlike a lot of other large group accommodation venues, Forest Lodge Farm offers all groups sole occupancy of the site. You don’t need to worry about anyone else invading your space or privacy when you choose us. You are in control of the guest list. Whether it be your family, church, sporting team, special interest group or some other variation. It really is a great feeling to have all of your favourite people in the one place, sharing meals, experiences and conversation. With a total capacity of 108 beds, our lodge is like a really large house, it comprises 15 bedrooms and sleeps 89 people and our cottage, sleeps 19 people, over three bedrooms. Our venue is best for groups of 25 people or more. See the lodge and cottage layout here.

There are quite a number of reasons that groups tend to come here, (some groups returning year after year, and even multiple times per year, in some cases)…

  1. To enjoy nature, reconnect and unplug for a while….
  2. To experience adventure activities together and push past the comfort zone a bit.
  3. To use the farm as a base from which to go touring in Gippsland to explore the area and all it’s treasures.

And of course, some groups can have a combination of all three reasons, individuals choosing different things to do, but coming together for the main meal at night.

Nature

We are so blessed here, to live on this gorgeous property. It is almost 50 acres of glorious farmland and bush. Once it was part of a working dairy farm, then it was developed into a school camp. We run it now primarily as a camp for Primary School aged children.

We regularly have kangaroos on the property, the occasional echidna, possum and wombat and the place is teeming with birdlife. There are also a lot of different plant species onsite. You dont need to go far, to see something new.

We are situated right next to the Alberton West State Forest, with it’s abundant flora and fauna. It’s really a convenient location for a stroll at any time of the day. Great to just get outdoors and take in some fresh air, relax and let your worries disappear for a little while.

If you enjoy peace and quiet and reading a good book, then we have many quiet places on the property for you to do that. Try the canoe shed early in the morning, just fantastic, dragonflies everywhere.

Adventure Activities

We have a number of adventure activites on the property. If you like to challenge yourself, then these could be an option for you and your group. Choose from Giant Swing or Flying Fox, to get the adrenaline flowing. As these activities need to be run by our experienced instructors, there is an additional fee involved.

It’s like going to an amusement park, but you don’t even have to leave the property!
